Resort Spa Review: The Greenhouse, Arlington, Texas
My sister-in-law and I decided to vacation at The Greenhouse because we’d heard such impressive things about it from acquaintances who’d stayed there. We needed some quiet time away from our family responsibilities to put the finishing touches on our business plan, and we felt like we deserved the get-away. Hey, it might be a tax deduction since we were talking business, right?
What a stunning location! The graceful mansion made me feel like I’d been whisked away to another time and place. The gardens were flawless. The attentive staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.
The highlight of our holiday was the Hinoki bath. I’d heard about it from others, but their raving descriptions only scratched the surface. Every inch of my body felt like melting butter as I unwound in the tub. The foot massage following my soak was scrumptious.
The fact that The Greenhouse is for women only was so reassuring. I felt free to wander around and interact with the other girls without the annoyance of competing for a man. We were all here for ourselves, not for the opposite sex.
Our rooms were comfortable and pleasant, with plenty of room to spread out our documents and get down to business while relaxing. Although there were plenty of books and movies for guests to enjoy, we found that we were eager to talk way into the night just like we did when we were teenagers.
My sister-in-law preaches the importance of eating as many organic foods as possible, but I’ve never been excited about organics. The chef at The Greenhouse made me rethink my aversion to organics, though. The meals were so amazing that it was hard to believe they were organic. My preconceived notion of healthy meals being synonymous with tasteless, bland meals was certainly incorrect. Who would’ve thought that their marvelous chocolate soufflé was actually good for me?
We (reluctantly) left The Greenhouse and returned to our homes, invigorated and refreshed, detoxified and spoiled, ready to conquer the business world.
